For Stamping Plants
Stamped Metal Part Inspection at Press Speed
Dimensional and surface defect inspection for stamped automotive parts — thinning, springback, edge cracks, and forming defects detected before parts leave the press cell.
Stamping-Specific Defects
Defect classes specific to stamped metal parts.
Material Thinning
Excessive thinning in draw corners measured from structured-light 3D depth map. Critical for high-strength steel body structural parts.
Springback
Angle and flatness deviation after stamping measured against nominal GD&T datum. Outputs as Cpk per production run for SPC tracking.
Edge Cracks
Micro-crack detection at stamped edges using dark-field illumination. Detects cracks >0.2mm that would fail subsequent weld or assembly operations.
Forming Defects
Draw-through tears, wrinkles, and split defects classified by defect type. Severity scored against your APQP control plan accept/reject threshold.
Hole Diameter & Position
Stamped hole diameter and true position per GD&T drawing. Replaces plug gauge for 100% in-process coverage without fixture change.
Surface Contamination
Oil, grease, and metal particle contamination detected before parts advance to painting or coating operations where contamination causes rework.
